Fergus from up on high

"you don't look cool without your glasses
but you look cool with your glasses
you really look like Craig
but your breath stinks"

A Ferg creation:

Kids are so gosh darn cute

Fergus was showing some concern yesterday for his Uncle Pump’s limited video chatting capabilities. The Hagensborg Hermit’s satellite styled internet connection is spotty at best and the opposite of high-speed so Fergus decided he would send Uncle Pump some money!?! He then proceeded to meticulously empty his piggy bank, collecting one of each coin and taping them to an envelope. Fergus says the reason for sending him every type of coin is so that Uncle Pump can then tell him which one he needs the most of so that Fergus can then gather up those coins and send him the rest of the amount required to make his uncle look less fuzzy and garbled on the computer.

Self-interested cuteness at its finest. Of course, kids are still weird... behold the current front door adornment:

Kids are weird

This one uses his feet as a rolling pin to help flatten out the playdough

Meanwhile this one decides to walk to the end of the property at dusk with the sole purpose of getting "totally and completely wet".

Fleeing the woods

The kiddos had not been downtown since Chicagwegians Max, Otto and Rachel visited back in July and, in the end, today turned into a bit of an attempt to emulate their daily, big city Chicago life. The day started off with a trip down to the local municipal hall for some voting excitment (Fergus: "nothing happened in there"). This was more "self-preservation" than "civic duty" - rural issues and all! School trustees were also being elected and we made sure not to vote for the trustee candidate with the similar phone number to ours and who ultimately we grumpingly fielded a few calls for (oh the irony!).

After voting, we drove Gillian back home to work while we went downtown to play. We're cruel that way.

Ferg at our favorite comic book/ action figure store, Curious Comics* - the main purpose of our adventure:

*we had never been here before but it sounds very urbane to say that we have a favorite comic book store.

This was also part of the plan - going for cupcakes. We live in this place that is aiming to be the healthiest on the planet and yet cupcakes are having some sort of revival, with stores opening up all over that cater solely to the mini cake. These ones turned out to be fatty and tasteless and stale.

We went to the coffee place that Max and Otto's family has shares in:

**Heavenly stars**, we even had a sit-down meal in a restaurant!!!

Yeah

Clone Wars release day!

(it's also release day for "Sound of The Smiths" - a rarities collection - but Walmart didn't appear to have any copies... or at least not in the regular section. Perhaps they had a special display somewhere else in the store?)

Sunday Events

Ferg titled this mallow-n-pick creation "Daddy's Nose Hole". Such a sweet boy:

The creek is running again! The creek is running again!

We iChated with cousins Mini, Phi and co. and gave each other Captain Underpants pseudonyms. Effie had the best one: "Crusty Booger Toilet Brains Banana Buns" (giver yerself a star if you have any idea what I'm talking about!?!):

Fergus took this along, his bear protection, when mailing his letter to Pump at the mailbox:

Jedi mushroom hunt

On halloween, while trick or treating, Ferg fell smack on some concrete at the FIRST house. He skipped a couple and then was right back in there. Yesterday, during another t&t training session (postmortem?), he chipped a tooth. Thankfully halloween week is nearly over!
