Crazy Fan

...and her easter basket: woot-wooting her way (loudly of course) around the property in search of eggs...

Cheering on the home side

Effie's sign actually works - spurring Canada on to glory:

Except the times she accidentally holds it the wrong way (we cheer for "Rice Krispies" anyway):

Well, these Games may have been built around one event - the men's gold medal hockey game - but we're having us some fun cheering on the other events. Like ice dancing! Who'd a thunk it? Here we are standing for the ice dancing victory anthem:

The moment Canada won the women's hockey gold (approx. 2 hours prior to when they melted the ice with their cigars butts!):

Eff's a few days behind in her reporting, but as determined as ever:

Yikes

Okay, I am pretty sure i have never come outside to find Eff halfway up a tall tree before. My knees were a knocking:

All duded up

But where to go? We were planning to head over to Vancouver today but the crazy crowds and lack of ferry parking conspired to dissuade us. So we settled on attending the Paralympics next month instead - the part of the games one can actually afford to get tickets for. Also, the big draw for the kiddos - viewing the Olympic flame through a hole in a chain link fence - would still be possible in a month’s time.

Settled then!?!

No... the monstrous amounts of humanity, massively long day and overpriced merchandise beckoned so we thought of going tomorrow...

But now we're not.

woah... trip-taking-wishywashyness? never experienced that before!?!?

A major reason for forsaking the “Olympic Experience” is that we are currently experiencing blisteringly beautiful weather here at the moment and Eff and Ferg are really lapping it up. They’ve got so many games on the go at the moment, there is no time for frivolous crazy canuck viewing in Van...

When someone keeps scoring on you in a game of one on one, tackling is an effective option.

Fever

Eff is absolutely obsessed with the Olympics - she has her television schedule all mapped out and plans to follow the results of all the Canadian competitors. Cool...

Fort

The kiddos' fort - a clearing under a tree next to the creek - has been hugely popular for months. I find this puzzling considering they picked a spot right next to the road to hang out. But they spend a lot of time down there on improvements. Occasionally we are allowed in to check it out however photography is strictly prohibited.

Here's the entrance. Ferg's holding their water-depth-measuring-rod.

Camo boy hides in woods...

...but the flash finds him
(and, apparently, a rifle!?!)

Spring?

So far this winter, we have had one day of less than one centimetre of snow. Apparently there are some Olympics happening nearby!?

Have a sunny day!

Intentional Procrastination (and more)

Is it February already?

Not only is the tree wilting, I think it’s starting to smell.

So, other than ignoring the fact that Christmas is, apparently, over... here’s what we have been up to lately:

Also...

Eff’s gotten into Harry Potter- movies and books. She also is continuing with art and doll making classes. Effie’s art class:

Ferg frequently creates and hands out loving treasures. His signature piece being: his initial/ a heart/ your initial. Melts us every time.

Little Big Planet is very popular (and must be played within an inch of the screen):

Our good friend Mitchel is hockey crazy. We just have to ensure he remembers which side his bread is buttered on as he moves to the land of the Sharks. Mitch has been very influential - even had Effie requesting to watch a hockey game on tv!?!
